Designer User Feedback

The Designer gives similar color-coded feedback to the user. In particular, the feedback for navigation, word, and clue selection is the same as in the Player and will not be repeated here.

The color coding for grid verification is a bit different in the Designer and is shown below.

• Squares with missing letters are marked with red flags.
• Indexed squares with missing Across clues are marked with blue flags.
• Indexed squares with missing Down clues are marked with yellow flags.

The flags are cumulative, so it is possible to have all three flags on a square.

There are times when an Across or Down clue is considered superfluous due to a change in the grid's block layout. These clues are marked red. So scan the clue panels to make sure you do not have any. See the section on renumbering the grid.
